Kombucha is a ancient chinese tea made of live bacteria and yeast that has been around for more than 2,000 years, and was once even thought to be a tonic for immortality. The brew comes from millions of microorganisms that come together in the form of a symbiotic colony of yeast and bacteria (SCOBY). The kombucha tea we drink is typically made by adding a SCOBY to sweetened tea, as the culture feeds on the sugars during fermentation producing alcohol and amino acids. At Kombucha Town, we brew with organic black tea, but kombucha can also be made with green tea, white tea, and even yerba mate.

Claims about kombucha's health benefits range anywhere from fighting cancer to improved digestion, immunity and lowered cholesterol. We continue to brew it because we can speak from personal experience as to how we felt after consuming our kombucha - and we felt great! After drinking some of Kombucha Town's finest brews we often notice increased energy, a heightened alertness, and an overall sense of well being. We attribute it mostly to the combo of the antioxidants, probiotics, and the touch of caffiene alcohol produced during fermentation. We say drink it because you like it. Drink it because it adds to your healthy, active lifestyle. And just like everything you consume, we recommend you add kombucha to your diet in moderation.

How to drink Kombucha:

It is best to consume 6 to 8 oz.
of Kombucha at a time regularly throughout your daily routine to see maximum health benefits. Over time the Kombucha may ferment to a point where it is too bitter to please the taste buds, 
but the health benefits are still intact. If this happens we recommend watering it down or mixing it with you favorite juices or into your favorite cocktail for 
a little added zing!

Also, Kombucha culture may begin to form in the bottle. It is safe to consume, but you can also simply strain it out and enjoy your tea. 

What to expect:

Because Kombucha Town Kombucha is brewed with black tea, the slight caffeine and alcohol content give a mood- lifting and energizing sensation without the negative effects of a caffeine crash or intoxication.
