Healthy café in basement of Herald Building will offer small plates & kombucha cocktails
Local kombucha microbrewery Kombucha Town announces plans to open the Culture Café at Kombucha Town in early 2016.
The Culture Café at Kombucha Town, a healthy café featuring a lunch, dinner, and late-night menu will offer healthy European-style small plates and kombucha-infused cocktails in addition to kombucha and microbrews on tap. Hours will be 11 a.m. until late, seven days a week.
The café is located in a newly remodeled space at 210 E. Chestnut St. in the basement of the Herald Building in downtown Bellingham, adjacent to Kombucha Town’s brewing facility. It is accessible through an alleyway entrance near La Fiamma Pizza.
“The cafe will provide healthy late-night menu options, which is something that’s missing from the restaurant and bar scene in downtown Bellingham,” said Kombucha Town owner Chris McCoy. “Our café offers something different that we really hope the community will enjoy.”
In anticipation of the opening, the Culture Café at Kombucha Town will host a sneak peek event on Saturday, January 2, and a soft opening on Thursday, January 7. Both events will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. and will feature a limited menu of cocktails and small plates. The café plans to open with a full menu and regular hours on Friday, January 8.
Kombucha Town products include seven flavors of kombucha in bottles and cans: Signature, Gold, Gold Light, Green Jasmine, Guayusa Mint, Blueberry White and Lavender.
