What’s your name? Nickname?
Summer Huntington, some friends call me Sumz or Summie
Where were you born & raised?
I was raised in Southern California until about age 12, then moved to Edmonds, Washington. I most definitely call Washington my home, though. There’s nothing like the fresh air and evergreens. I can't imagine living anywhere else.
What’s your favorite Kombucha Town flavor? Why?
My new favorite flavor is Lavender; I am a yoga teacher and use lavender quite a bit. Before that flavor came out, I was all about the Guayusa Mint. I also love the Gold because of the ginger and antioxidants. You might say it's hard to narrow it down to one favorite flavor since they are all amazing. I <3 Kombucha Town.
What gets you pumped up to perform, compete, teach, etc. in your sport?
I usually just act like it’s a normal day when I teach a big class, like at Wanderlust or seminars abroad. It's really the students’ energy that gets me stoked. When they are in flow state, that's when I am most pumped.
What did you want to be before you grew up?
When I was a kid I used to say I wanted to be a lawyer, but I think that was because of the movie Liar Liar with Jim Carrey. I have wanted to be a personal trainer since I was 17, so I read a book and got certified. Now I train personal trainers worldwide and create yoga DVDs...not a bad gig. I also teach people how to move better at my studio, Fit Body Wellness.
How do you make a positive difference in your average day?
I inspire people to have a meaningful movement practice everyday. I encourage them to reconnect with their inner teacher and to listen to their bodies. Wellness is a lifestyle and I help to curate that for people.
If you could travel anywhere in the world for a week, where would it be?
Thailand, to a yoga sanctuary. And also Sedona, Arizona, the metaphysical capital of the United States. Oh, and Brazil, to the Amazon. I love travel.
